China's First In-Situ Ionization Mass Spectrometry Conference Held

China's First In-Situ Ionization Mass Spectrometry Conference Held On April 2-3, the first in-situ ionization mass spectrometry conference in China was held in Xiamen. 150 representatives from domestic and foreign institutions of higher learning, research institutes, government inspection and supervision agencies, and instrument companies attended the conference.

"Green", "Rapid", "Non-destructive", and "In-situ" represent the new directions of development in the analytical and inspection industry. Among them, analytical methods represented by Ambient Ionization Mass Spectrometry (AIMS) technology are gradually emerging. With its economical, accurate, non-polluting and instant advantages, it penetrates the industry layer by layer and begins to influence the development and utilization of future analysis and detection technologies. Since the commercialization of in-situ ionization mass spectrometry technology appeared on the Chinese market a few years ago, a group of well-known scholars have used this technology and have obtained a lot of research results one after another. It is expected that more people will pay attention to, use and develop this technology in the future.

In response to the growing influence of in-situ ionization mass spectrometry technology in China, the China Mass Spectrometry Society hosted and hosted the China Tyco Biotech (Beijing) Co., Ltd. to host the conference. The purpose of the conference is to share new ideas and discuss new hot spots. Exchange new experiences and promote the overall development of real-time science and mass spectrometry industries.

The conference consists of two sections, the conference report and the topic training. The topics covered in the conference report include: Front-end ionization mass spectrometry technology frontier and basic research, application of in-situ ionization mass spectrometry technology, in situ ionization mass spectrometry technology method development and in situ ionization mass spectrometry technology industrialization trend.

Around the above topics, a number of professionals from the Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, including the researcher Liu Shuying of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, made a conference report. The total number of reports reached 22, and the most mentioned are the in situ ionization technologies, especially DART (real-time direct analysis) and their applications. A few reports involved other in-situ ionization techniques such as DESI (deserption electrospray ionization) and DAPCI (surface desorption atmospheric pressure chemical ionization), and the range of samples used in the study was also extensive.

During the conference, Bennet editors interviewed a number of experts and scholars who agreed that the significant advantages of the in-situ ionization technology are more direct and faster, eliminating the need for sample preparation time or requiring only simple sample preparation, while the entire sample The analysis time is significantly shortened. Compared with the LC/MS technology, the work that previously required several hours to complete is now completed in less than half an hour. Of course, this technology still has some deficiencies in terms of sensitivity and reproducibility. In short, on the whole, in-situ ionization represents a new direction of technological development. Its rapidity, ease of use, and low consumption have given it unique and unique advantages. Many of the audience attending the conference are due to the In-situ ionization technologies such as DART are interested, and the entire conference is listening or communicating.

In addition, the definition of "in-situ" has also been of concern to many participants. This has a bearing on the scoping of technologies that everyone has discussed. The source of the term is English Ambient. There are currently several translation methods in China. For example, “open at normal temperature and pressure”, including DART, DESI, DAPCI, etc., through this meeting formally unified these technologies with the word “in situ”. This was also a result of several professional discussions. The meaning of direct ionization of the sample in situ.

Thermo Fisher, Agilent, China Tyco, PEAK, Shanghai Chuangheyi and Lianmo Technology sponsored the conference. Instrument Information Network, Clove Garden, Chromatography Network, and Analytical Testing Encyclopedia Network support the media for the conference.

According to Dr. Liu Chunsheng, the CTO of the contractor China Tektronix, although this type of meeting was held for the first time, it was still very successful from the standpoint of the situation and results. The level of speech presentation was high, there were collisions with different technical aspects, and the exchange atmosphere was good. Next year The conference will continue to be held.
